Uploading a Quest from CSV
Turn your existing curriculum — or a Quest shared by another school — into a working Quest via CSV import.

CSV import is the most common way studios build Quests - it turns the curriculum you already have into a working Quest without rebuilding anything inside the app.
What you can import
- Your own curriculum, translated into the CSV template - A Quest shared by another school - any Quest in Musician Quest can be exported to CSV, so curricula travel between studios
How to import
From the Quest tab on your Owner Dashboard, choose to create a new Quest and select the upload from CSV option.
Download the provided Google Sheet template, or use a CSV exported from another Musician Quest account.
Fill in your Levels and Skills following the template's columns. (See: CSV Format Reference for exactly what goes in each column.)
Export your sheet as a CSV file and upload it.
Your Quest is created - open it in the Quest Editor to review, adjust, and set its state.
Tips for a clean import
Work in the Google Sheet template. It has the correct headers and column order, which is the most common source of import problems.
One row per Skill. Each row places one Skill in one Level.
Keep Level names consistent. Rows with the same Level name land in the same Level, so a typo ("Level 2" vs "Level 2 ") creates an unwanted extra Level.
Review in the Quest Editor after import. Spot-check a few Levels to confirm everything landed where you expected before publishing.
Translating an existing curriculum
If your current curriculum lives in a binder, a PDF, or your teachers' heads, budget a working session to structure it into Levels and Skills before filling in the sheet. The structure questions - how many Levels, what defines each one - matter more than the data entry.
Draft note: add screenshots of the upload flow and link the Google Sheet template directly.
