This article is for Teachers - it's the in-lesson workflow from first skill to Level reward. Owners and Admins introducing the system to staff: see Onboarding Your Teachers.
This is the whole teacher workflow.
Six steps, most of them one tap, designed to be lighter than what you're already doing - no curriculum building, no email drafting, no end-of-day admin.
The loop
Decide the starting Level (once, at enrollment)
Assess each student and decide the Level where they'll thrive - you'll simply begin starting skills at that Level. Beginners start at Level 1; experienced students may still choose Level 1 to earn every reward - that's encouraged. (See: Deciding a Student's Starting Level.)
Click "Start Skill"
When you introduce something new, tap Start Skill. This opens the skill on the student's Quest and adds it to the family's next progress email - so they'll know what their musician is working on.
Record the performance video (when the skill calls for it)
Some skills require a short video (or photo) before they can be marked complete. Real proof, not polish - capture it right in the lesson. (See: Recording Performance Videos.)
Fill in the text field (when the skill has one)
If a skill shows an empty text field, add the song, exercise, or a short note. It's what makes the family email meaningful - and a skill with a text field can't be marked complete until it's filled in.
Click "Mark Complete"
Once the skill is demonstrated (and any required video and text are in), mark it complete - in the moment, not at the end of the day. This logs the progress, moves the Quest forward, and everything from the lesson lands in one progress email to the family, sent automatically about an hour after the lesson's activity settles.
Walk the student to the front desk (when a Level completes)
Level done? Bring the student up for their Level reward. Make it a moment - this is the payoff. (See: The Reward Moment.)
Before the lesson
Know the student's current Level - open their Quest before they walk in.
Have your phone or device ready for the in-lesson proof video.
What you never have to do
Write the family email. Explain the skill to parents. Track anything at the end of the day. The moment you tap Mark Complete, the system handles all of it.
And through all six steps: teach the way you teach. The skills are a shared roadmap, not a script - Musician Quest makes your teaching visible, it doesn't change it.
