Five Ways to Create a Quest

CSV import, ready-made Quests, duplication, the Quest Generator, and building from scratch — and how to choose.

You don't need to design a curriculum from scratch - most studios start by digitizing what they already teach.

There are five ways to get a Quest into your account.

1. Import from CSV (most common)

Translate your existing curriculum into a spreadsheet and import it - or import a Quest another school has shared. Any Quest inside Musician Quest can be exported to CSV, so curricula travel between studios.

This is the recommended path if you already have a level system, a method book sequence, or any structured curriculum. You keep the teaching philosophy you've invested in; Musician Quest adds video proof, family emails, and rewards on top.

2. Use or edit a ready-made Quest

Pre-built instrument Quests live inside your account from day one, ready to assign as-is or adapt to your school's approach.

See: The Ready-Made Quests

3. Duplicate and edit an existing Quest

Copy any Quest in your account and modify the duplicate - useful for instrument variants (Electric Guitar from Guitar), level-adjusted versions, or experimenting without touching a live Quest.

4. Use the Quest Generator

Generate a structured Quest with AI assistance, then refine it in the Quest Editor: app.musicianquest.com/generate_quest

5. Create from scratch

Build Levels and Skills directly in the Quest Editor for complete control from a blank page.

How to choose

  • You have a curriculum you love → CSV import. Don't rebuild what works.

  • You're starting fresh or launching a new instrument → Ready-made Quest, customized over your first month.

  • You want a variation on something you have → Duplicate and edit.

  • You have ideas but no structure → Quest Generator, then refine.

  • You have a very specific vision → From scratch.

Whichever door you take, remember: progress over perfection. Quests are living documents - you can edit, reorder, and refine after launch.
