Adding Students to Your Roster and Assigning Quests
Building your roster and assigning each student the Quest for their instrument.

This article is for Teachers. Only Teachers can assign Quests to students. If you're a studio Owner or Admin, you assign Quests to your teachers, and they take it from there - see Assigning Quests to Teachers.
Your roster is your home base in Musician Quest
The list of your students, each with their own Quest. Here's how to set it up.
Your three tabs
The Teacher Dashboard has three main views in the sidebar:
Students - your roster. This is where you add students and assign them Quests, and where each student's card links to their Quest pages.
Student Quests - a filterable list of every Quest in progress with your students, with links to each Quest page, where all the in-lesson action happens.
Quests - the Quests your studio has assigned to you. These are the curricula available for you to give students.
Adding a student and assigning a Quest
Important note: Only Teachers can assign Quests to Students.
From your Students tab, click Add Student and search by name. The student must already exist at your school - if they're not there yet, ask your studio owner or admin to add them first.
On the student's card, assign them the Quest that matches their instrument - one Quest per instrument, chosen from your available list.
Begin working at the Level that fits their current ability. There's no "starting level" setting - you simply start skills at the right Level for the student. (See: Deciding a Student's Starting Level.)
Do this at rollout for your current students, and at enrollment for each new one.
If a Quest is locked
If a student is already doing a Quest with another teacher, that Quest appears locked on their card and you can't assign it. The fix: ask your studio admin to move the Quest to you.
What happens when you assign
Assigning a student their first Quest is the family's starting gun: they receive a welcome email with a link to set their password and view their family portal. From that moment, every skill you start and complete flows to them automatically.
Two things worth knowing
You can't edit Quests. The curriculum stays consistent studio-wide. If you disagree with a skill, that's a conversation with your studio owner - teacher input is how Quests get better.
Participation is optional. Musician Quest is strongly recommended but never required. A student who opts out continues lessons exactly as before - nothing about your teaching changes.
Draft note: add Teacher Dashboard roster screenshot.
